Jeremiah 9:3
“…but they are not valiant for truth upon the earth…”

Isaiah 41:10 Fear Thou not…

Isaiah 41:10

The first occurrence of fear or of being afraid is Adam. Look at the record in Genesis 3: 6-10.

Fear was the immediate consequence of Adam and Eve’s disobedience to God. This is what the Adversary seeks to inflict on mankind. The effects of sin and fear cause us to be separated from God. Our thoughts become unorganized, emotionally unstable, and drawn to anxiety, depression, and learned helplessness, “I have no choice or control”. Before you know it, you’ve gone from careful to fearful!

In Genesis 15: 1 God tells Abram in a vision,” Fear Not, Abram I am thy shield and your exceeding great reward.”

God is teaching Abram, do not succumb to terror or dread or let your emotions cause your body to freeze in fear. I am your shield, your armor, your defense, I balance the scales, I am your protector, and I am un-defeated!

You see he made a contract long ago to be our God and Father. All we do is believe and obey!  God will without fail honor the contract which includes, protection, grace, love, favor, and a peace that passes all understanding. This was all done before the accomplished works of Jesus Christ. To sweeten the pot, we are now called joint heirs with the son of God.

As born-again believers we are no longer physical instruments of war. We are blessed with holy spirit power, and our fight is against satanic powers and principalities. How do you fight what you cannot see? You fight with the knowledge of the written word that you have made your own. You fight by speaking the word, by detailed prayers, by speaking in tongues and confessions of belief. These are the invisible things that bring down Satan’s kingdom and influence here on Earth.

When God says I am with thee that’s not just in times of trouble. He means right now in this very moment, he means tomorrow, he means forever, and in your next breath. When you confessed Romans 10:9-10 you released your soul from any fear in this life. Psalm 56:4 and Psalm 118: 6 establish that we are not to fear what man can do either. Our lives are more than just the years we spend on earth. Think bigger, higher, and for a longer period, like Forever!

2 Timothy 1:7

This spirit gains its power through darkness, manipulation, and wickedness. Long ago I learned and acronym for F.E.A.R. and I’ve taught it ever since.

False. Evidence. Appearing. Real.

False because you’ve been tricked or manipulated into believing certain half-truths, or mis-guided facts or flat out lies. The word tells us to prove all things, hold fast to that which is good. (1Thessalonians 5:21)

The Evidence laid before you is often tainted, exaggerated, and HAND picked to push those emotional buttons that cause you to worry, doubt, stress, and anguish over things that are NOT true to fact. (Luke 21:34)

It Appears or gives the impression of something based on your limited understanding of the situation or facts involved. It’s the reliance on our 5 senses that are limited by our education, experience, maturity, prejudice, and motivation, to name a few things. Remember we must trust God, and sometimes it just isn’t our business. Walking by the spirit will help us decide when and where. (Job 23:9) (Isa 44:18)

To you the threat feels real, genuine. When mom says I’m going to beat your behind! Based on the spankings you’ve had before you certainly knew it was going to cause pain! This can cause us to act irrational, triggering a physical change, and making ourselves sick, thereby making the situation worse. Example, you get called to your bosses’ office after lunch. You break out in hives because you are nervous. It turns out you won a reward. We are to hold those thoughts in check until all is revealed. (Psalm 37:34) (Isa 40:5)

I will close with Romans 8:16-17 Our spirit is drawn to God the way a toddler runs to its earthly father and trusts in his protection, love, and care. Be careful to avoid the pitfalls of fear. We address situations calmly we do not avoid situations. We are not impulsive risk takers we practice self-control. We do not continue to live in our experiences and old man but In Christ and the new man that is renewed day by day! If today wasn’t good we get to start over tomorrow. No judgement. (Rom 3:23-25)

God bless,

Robin
