Jeremiah 9:3
“…but they are not valiant for truth upon the earth…”

Isaiah 41 God will Strengthen and Uphold

Many times, in my life I have had to remember these very words that are written in Isaiah chapter 41. God reminds me that HE will strengthen me, that HE will help me.

In this life we are often faced with doing things that are hard, that are uncomfortable; getting up early for work or for children when you want to sleep in; having that difficult conversation at work or at home; choosing to do the right thing according to Gods word when the wrong thing is easier or looks better, or over-coming that sudden fear that seeks to steal our peace.

I don’t know the details, situation, or circumstance that you face but I KNOW the God who can help you through it. I experientially know and remember that each time I have called on him, he was there.

1Corinthians 10:13

God has given us inside information and made several promises here to us.

  1. We will be faithful
  2. You will be able to overcome
  3. You will have a way to escape

God has placed safeguards around those that belong to him if they listen and obey.

These things are common things that all men have faced, and overcome, including Jesus Christ his son.

Hebrews 2: 16-18

He knows our frailties, when we are growing weak, when I just can’t take anymore, when I might not recover, or may lose it all. He knows and he still chose us! He who cannot lie made the promise to uphold me and strengthen me.

Let’s look at the 1st occurrence of strengthen. What does it mean to strengthen. It means to be alerted, bold, courageous, to make firm, to confirm, to make solid, to prove superior, to secure.

Deuteronomy 3:28

God knew Joshua would need encouragement and strengthening. The people were emotionally attached to Moses as their leader. But God chose Joshua and not his mentor Moses. This meant overcoming the doubt, worry, fear, complaining, and unbelief that is common to man.

When I need strengthening, I often go to Psalm. As a man often stirred up in war and conflict King David sought God often. He needed Gods assistance and so do we.

Psalm 27:14 To help control and overcome the thoughts and emotions stemming from our un-renewed minds. We must WAIT! Patience is a fruit of the spirit. We are not born with patience. It takes courage to wait and trust in God.

Psalm 56:9-13 He will deliver my feet from falling. Meaning he will support me through my journey.

Psalm 84:11 The love of God is unconditional. The blessings we receive are NOT. We must continue to honor the contractual agreement set forth in his word. “Them that walk uprightly”.

Psalm 46:1-3 He is always a breath away. Present to serve, to save, to help, to guide, and strengthen.

Psalm 60:11 The help of man is vain. It is fleeting, unreliable, empty, and full of false hope.

Psalm 108:12-13 Our help comes from the lord. In him we have the perseverance to take another step. To face what is coming next. You can choose not to be weak because we have limitless power through Chist Jesus our lord.

Psalm 37:39-40 Our righteousness yields safety and deliverance. We are upheld and repeatedly blessed with the favor of God almighty as we continue in right standing and harmony with God and his word.

1 Peter 5:10

There are things that only men and women filled with holy spirit will be able to endure. God promises to support, to sustain, and keep me from falling. The result to our life is being established, then strengthened, then settled, Amen.
